Dimetrodon
The Dimetrodon was discovered 1878 Edward Drinker Cope. It lived before the dinosaurs, just like Diplocaulus. It lived 295 million to 272 million years ago, in the Permian Period. Scientists think that it might have used the sail on it's back to control it's temperature. It did have blood veins in it's sail. It could have lied in the sun to warm up and could sit in the shade to cool down. It is actually more closely related to mammals than reptiles.

Very interesting looking one. I wonder if that large fan on his back made him easy prey?
