Tyrannosaurus Rex

Tyrannosaurus Rex is a genus of therapod dinosaur. Tyrannosaurus Rex means "Tyrant King", now you know  why they call him the king of the dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus Rex was discovered in the year 1902 by the famous Barnum Brown and is now mostly found in Montana. Tyrannosaurus Rex is most likely the most popular dinosaur of all time. It has starred in movies like Jurassic World. Scientists, actually think, that the Tyrannosaurus Rex, might have had feathers! That could actually might have been true, here are my thoughts. I think it could have had feathers to keep warm in the winter, it is a cold-blooded reptile after all. It also could have had feathers to show-off to female Tyrannosaurus Rex's. But we can't use up all this time talking about feathers. At it's time, north America was weirdly shaped and did not look like what it looks like today, it wasn't connected to south America/Africa yet! This continent/island is now known as laramidia. It's species only existed about 68 million to 66 million years ago, none of the dinosaurs lived through their whole time period, just a part of it. It is one of the last tyrannosaurids to die out. About 66 million years ago. And in conclusion, I think I should tell you that dinosaur means "Terrible Lizard", though not all are terrible.

Billed as a "modern scientific reconstruction of Tyrannosaurus rex, this guy already needs an update thanks to today's study which strips the fanciful feathers off the famous dinosaur. (Credit RJPalmer/Wikimedia Commons)
